At the risk of slowing the momentum of what is in fact a pretty interesting
thread here, I think that what Christopher's saying is we need these kinds
of information like we need a hole in the head...:-)

Learn more than you ever wanted to know about the revival of trepanation

if at first the URL doesn't work, but I'm telling you now, you really
don't want to know.) But, maybe some of this is urban legend or sick joke?
I've run across this document twice on Usenet, which is a good reason to
suspect it. Moreover, it's cited by Third Eye Marketing in their webpage
for the TREP-O-MATIC 2000, which really seems like a joke ("Artificially
intelligent microprocessor ..."); see http://zikzak.zikzak.net/~thirdeye/
