Thanks for the interesting discussion about trephination.
In "Healers of the Andes", Joseph Bastien describes in great detail a
trephination performed in the Kallawaya area of Bolivia in the 1960's to
remove a tumor. The operation was sucessful.
A couple of days ago somebody (sorry, I don't remember the name) mentioned
incidents of trephination in NW Argentina. Do you have any specific
information on that? Have any cases occurred in more recent times?
