An open letter to John Stevens

"Thank you Mike ,Mike, and John, for shattering my dreams!!"
So, stand up. Pick up the pieces, and get your ass in gear. Lord knows, we
need you. Somebody's going to make it through those pearly gates to the
ivory tower and a good romantic cynic is just what the place needs.
You know the worst now, and doing what you do for Amnesty
International, you've got to agree that it's pretty tame. No bullwhips here,
no cattle prods, no cunning electrical devices attached to your genitalia.
Just a world that's short of cash and deluged with so much information
that if you want to be heard and have an effect you'll have to look for a big
idea, focus, focus, focus, and promote it 'til you're blue in the face. You'll
have to worry about the packaging and the politics and the networking
you have to do. It's a wound in the heart and a pain in the butt.
But John, dear friend, you can do it. And your's is a a voice we cannot
afford to lose.
