The Ethnographics Laboratory (e-lab) is a teaching, research and archival
facility for new media at the Department of Anthropology at the University
of Southern California. The study of anthropology at USC includes a graduate
studies program in Visual Anthropology at the Center for Visual Anthropology
(CVA). The E-lab was founded in 1989 as a part of the CVA to promote the
development of interactive media in and for anthropology, ethnography and
analysis of behavior.

This semester's Advanced Interactive Media seminar has set itself the task
to survey anthropology-related sites on the World Wide Web (WWW), incl
gopher, ftp, electronic magazines, mailing lists, etc. In addition to
compiling a comprehensive list of these sources, the project aims to create
a survey format as the first building block for a WWW library.

The seminar is led by Dr Michael Mascha (mascha@usc.edu) who maintains the
WWW Virtual Library: Anthropology:

Please e-mail the following information to Bernd Knoll (bknoll@usc.edu):

1. Title of the WWW site; and
2. URL.

Thank you very much for your assistance.
