I really don't know why people are even taking Mr. Johnson's provocations
seriously. The effort to "decolonize" anthropology has been going on for
a long time, some would argue since Boas.
The statements about "Native Americans" seem to come from a perspective
that sees American Indians as either the only, or at least the most
extremely injured, victims of colonialism.
My sympathies go to a white man like Mr. Johnson who feels such painful
levels of guilt that he contributes agonizing confessionals for all to
see.
