GEnie is an online servive run by GE. Their internet gateway "experienced
a service outage" last week, so messages running between GEnie and the Internet
are getting backlogged, misdirected, etc. Presumably, ANTHRO-L is getting
these messages because we've got members on GEnie and the postmaster is
trying to convince everyone that everything's under control.

But this is all unsubstantiated and unresearched speculation. Maybe the list-
members on GEnie know more....
