Dear Micki Korp: As a Canadian born and bred myself (now an American), I
am glad that you alone, of the women who responded, understand the
frustration I experienced when I had at Bjorn; not only frustration but
total lack of respect. I was fairly polite the first time I brought
his linguistic chauvinism to his attention, but this second time was too
much , particularly in view of his response the first time when
he tried the tired tactic of listing all the words that included the
syllable "man", as several of the males did again this time. Ho, ho, ho.
Thank you, Micki, do come and visit when you are next in Washington --
perhaps next year, when the AAA will meet here. I hope in l995 you will
no longer be "adjuncting," but settled securely and enjoyably where you
