Since everyone is extolling the virtue of ear-plugs in the field, and
since I myself felt the need for good ones a number of times, let me just
ask What Earplugs are You Using??? None that I found were sufficient to
permit sleep in the face of roosters, dance-bands, or screaming children.
My experience with sound shut-outs is that only a good heavy feather
pillow will do it and this I couldn't get in the field.
