1. swiss army knife
2. a gold card credit card (for when the airline fouls up your return
reservation and you have to buy a new ticket with all your available
cash gone)
3. a comfy underpad
4. a really good watertight coat with lots of pockets (i use a sailing
jacket - yellow for safety)
5. lots of sanitary napkins (for females in outposts this is just
simpler, but many men i know take them too because they make
fast sterile pressure bandages)
