Hello, all.

With all due respect, might I point out that not only does the Contract
With America target "venerable and productive gov't services" like the
one described below, but it also targets people. The "Personal
Responsibility Act" (which comes out of the Contract) targets immigrants
(legal and illegal), teenage mothers, poor people (esp. women and
children), and women who dare to have children out of wedlock.

I'm sure many of you know this, but I wanted to point it out anyway.
There's a relatively uninformative (but better than nothing) article on
the PRA in this week's _Newsweek_. Anyone who has a better source of
info, could you contact me via email?

I don't want to get this thread off-track, but I felt the need to post
*something* as long as anthro-Lers were discussing the Contract with
America. Sorry if I've misused this thread.
