Since I have begun to see the annual pleas for info. on field
opportunities I thought I'd give you info on mine. I am the field
director for a large project in Belize, Central America called the
Belize River Archaeological Settlement Survey/El Pilar Project.

The site itself is a recently discovered major Maya center in western
Belize. This year's work will include mapping and architectural
excavations from April to the end of June. We do not require any
field experience for volunteers and our living accomodations in Belize
are pretty posh as field HQ's go (a retreat building in a local
monastery).
