People,
Will the job scene ever get better? My husband graduated from the
University of Arizona with a Ph.D. in anthropology (major emphasis in
historical archaeology) in 1991 and still hasn't been able to get an academic
teaching post. Hell, he hasn't even been asked for an interview yet! Yet he is
involved in ongoing field research (the Presidio of Tubac in Arizona, and the
Presidio of San Diego in California), and has published extensively in
academic sources. He feels, as do I at this point, that it is because he is a
white male. (although I think he should be considered a Hispanic male since
his ancestors lived in Alabama when it was under Spanish rule!).
