This issue has been picked up by CNN and NBC who have done stories on
how people have been trying to bring newspapers published in Buffalo and
Detroit across the border into Ontario. The papers carry stories about a
set of murder trials in Southern Ontario in which the judge has ordered a
ban on publication (within Canada) so that the defendants can receive a
fair trial.

The trial involves some rather awful cases of rape and cutting bodies up,
so many people are interested in what happens. People are jumping up and
down demanding to know what's going on in the court room, what the details
of the killings are, what deals have been struck between the Crown and the
defence. Others are willing to wait until the ban is lifted and resent
the way Americans have ignored Canadian sovereignty by bombarding Canadian
audiences with details about the trial.

Many of us can hear George P. Grant (despite the static raised by his
conservatism) whispering "I told you so." from beyond the grave.
