Since I'm new to this list I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Ray Bucko,
an associate professor of anthropology at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY.
I did my Ph D at the University of Chicago and did my research on the Pine
Ridge Reservation in ritual and identity (I wrote on the inipi-- sweat
lodge). I've been at Le Moyne for 4 years and last year we instituted a
minor in anthropology. With all the talk about multi-culturalism they
thought an anthropologist might contribute somethings.... in fact, they
thought two would be better so the college hired both myself and Deborah
Tooker from Harvard.

At last year's Northeast Anthropological Association meetings I offered to
set up a list server here at Le Moyne for members of the association so we
could keep in contact. This is particularly important at this time as we
are 'cutting loose' from the AAA.

So this is a note both to introduce myself and to announce the opening of
the new discussion group. Subscribe to:

By the way, is there a computer where people store their syllabi? I'd be
willing to post mine and I'd like to see what others are doing creative
with undergraduate education.

Nice to meet you all (at least virtually).
