This info may already have been posted in another form.

There is now a Web server (http://durendal.cit.cornell.edu/TestPit.html)
that contains information about fieldwork opportunities, the Web
Archaeological Fieldwork Opportunities). "Included here are positions for
volunteers, paid workers, field schools, contract jobs -- whatever is
submitted or found on various lists and news groups. This server does not
contain position annoucements for professional academic or staff
archaeologists." (from the first page of the site document)

In addition, the Archaeological Institute of America publishes a
paper guide called the _Archaeological Fieldwork Opportunities
Bulletin_ (AFOB for short) that includes information on many
projects. The AIA seeks out this information by sending
questionnaires to scholars and institutions each year, and the
book is sold for $9 to AIA members and $11 to non-members (plus
shipping).
