The Department of Anthropology, The University of Alberta, invites
applications for a two-year visiting position in sociocultural
anthropology at the Assistant or beginning Associate Professor level. A
completed Ph.D. is required. Applicants with a specialization in
northern North America will be preferred. We are particulaly interested
in candidates specializing in cultural ecology and/or current issues
affecting aboriginal societies. The individual will be expected to teach
a standard course load (2.5 half courses per year) including an
introductory course in sociocultural anthropology as well as courses in
teh area of geographical specialization and one or more of the following:
kinship, social structure, ecological anthropology, anthropological
theory, aboriginal rights and economic or political anthropology. The
effective date of appointment is 1 July 1995. Send a curriculum vitae
