My answer would be cultural relativism as against unilinear models of
the evolution of civilization. I realize this is pretty old hat, but
seems ever more relevant in the post-cold war period. Not only is it
relevant from a policy perspective, but so useful in critiquing
blinkered universalisms in both basic and applied fields of study
such as economics and marketing, respectively, for example.
