Re Descent from H. erectus

Robert S. Wrathall appears to be suggesting an expanded version
of a theory I associate with S.L. Washburn. Somewhere around
1960, Washburn pointed out the general effects of domestication
on animals (smaller adrenals, infantilization in appearance, etc.)
and suggested that human beings may in effect have self-domesticated
themselves. Perhaps someone can find the original Washburn
reference.
