Examiners

This is an announcement of opportunities for teachers. I have been aware
of the International Baccalaureate programme, first as a Director of
admissions in a university, later as a board member, and currently as a
senior examiner for Information Technology in a Global Society. I consider
the IB diploma curriculum to be among the best found anywhere. The IB
teachers are excellent, the curriculum development carefully and
professionally administered, and student assessment through and
comprehensive. IB examiners work on contractual arrangements to evaluate
students with several days of intensive work at least twice a year. Some
are also involved in preparing examinations once or twice a year. Those
few, with experience as an IB examiner, who become chief examiners must be
prepared to travel to Wales at least twice a year. The IB assessment
process is very professional. Being an examiner provides an excellent
opportunity for professional development. The IBO is seeking a broad
representation from around the world. The examinations office for this
world-wide programme is based in Cardiff, Wales.

I have tried to restrict this posting only to lists directly related to
both teaching and to the subject in which examiners are sought. Please
accept my apologies for cross-listings.
