I have a question regarding the teaching of the four fields.
Historically, there have existed departments which have dominated
anthropology in all the subfields. Chicago, Harvard, Berkeley, Columbia,
Michigan, etc., have all at one time or another been considered leading
departments. I am assuming that such a systems still exists today. What
would a list of top ten departments look like and how do the fourfields
figure in their training of graduate students in the various
subdisciplines? In particular I am interested in know the curricular
requirements of sociocultural grad students in what are considered top
ten departments. Could you please make this information availiable? I
would greatly appreciate it.
thanks in advance,
