To any interested parties,
I just got back from 2.5 months in Russia and northern
Kazakhtstan doing research on Bronze Age materials. In the course
of my travels I met many scholars that are eager to exchange
literature, put together cooperative research efforts, or just
plain correspond with anyone in the 'outside' world. If you thought
the political and economic situations in Russia were bad, you
should see what the changes have done to academia. They need all
the help they can get.
Some of the particular areas of research that I know people
are interested in:

Evolution of the Domestic Horse and cattle (development of breeds
etc.)
Ethnic identification of Korean communities in Kazakhstan
Prehistoric religion and belief systems
Indo-Iranian origins and migrations
Anthropogenic environmental degradation in prehistory
Environmental education/preservation/reconstruction
Ceramic production technology and reconstruction
Establishing archaeological/ecological museum and education program

And many more!

If you have an interest in corresponding with people in
Western Siberia/northern Kazakhstan about such things, or would
like to do research there, please let me know.
Also, if you are currently working in that part of the world,
I would like to meet you (online if nothing else) and share tales
of research and information.

Thanks for your attention,
