Bob Graber has pointed out to me that it was not Robert Merton but
C. Wright Mills who translated Talcott Parson's 'Theory of Social Action'
into English. On looking into 'The Sociological Imagination' I find
that Mills in fact translates only small passages and suggests that
Parson's 2 volumes might be translated into about 150 pages of english.
Re Graber and St. C's comments - If more people used the list as a forum
in which to present ongoing research as Graber does, the value of
Anthro-L would be raised significantly.
