I think it was Hegel who said in his discusssion about the WORK of the
intellect that from the hieghts of reason (or is it the Ivory Tower) that
the whole world looks different. And it was Goethe (a German poet) who
said that from the hieghts of reason the whole world looks like a madhouse.
I once found difficult what I now find easy, and I always seek the next
highest peak to climb before I get too old.
