Amanda:

If you have ever read the Book of Mormon, you would have realized that
their religion states nothing about a so-called "Battlestar Galactica" -
instead it claims that the Moundbuilders concept of the mid 1800s is based
on the migration of one of the lost tribes of Israel to North America...a
war ensued between two groups and the evil group were turned "black" -
hence the darker color of most Native Americans. Since the Moundbuilders
are now known to be a fiction and that all of these materials are due to
the Adena culture and the Hopewell culture, both definitely Native
American and NOT Old World in origin, the Church of the Latter Day Saints
(both them and the Revised version) claim that it is in Mesoamerica - the
areas of high civilization.

I agree that the religion is founded on a faulty premise from a "prophet"
who was a grave-robber and a charlatan before be became a "prophet" - but
no where in their religion do they claim they descended from space.
