It would be ironic indeed if sociobiology were unavoidably
anti-gender-equity, since IMO its most articulate defender is Helena
Cronin, at Cambridge.

See her _Ant and Peacock_ for a review of the sociobiological theories of
altruism and the emergence of secondary sexual characteristics.
