IMO, people who believe in the literal truth of Adam and Eve (or any
other creation myth) are not interested in science or standards of
evidence, hypothesis testing, and other tools for approximating reality.
For whatever reason, they have decided that it's in their best interest
to Believe.

Shouldn't this be posted in talk.origins instead of sci.anthro?
