photography and anthropology

If some people could help me out with the following that would be really
great.

I am looking for anthropological books, ethnographic works in particular,
that use photographs, not merely as illustration, but integrated into its
approach to the subject. That means that to a certain degree the
photographs must be essential to the analysis or description of the matter
at hand. I've been looking around for these kinds of books, but they seem
hard to find, so any references are highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Frank Schaap

there was a difference. Then I had to explain that a fairy tale was
still a different sort, one step farther along the spectrum from fact
to fancy." (Robert A. Heinlein, Time enough for love)
