It might interest you to know that leeches are used in healing again.
It seems that there are conditions of poor circulation, especially after
surgery to reattach a severed limb or digit, where the old method of
correcting the problem of blood build-up in the problem area was to
cut and drain the excess blood. The newer, more modern technique is
to use leeches.

What a stupid thread, but I'm a newcomer here in alt.folklore.computers,
and I was curious...
