That reminds me of an interesting anecdote:

In the 1970 movie "Patton" with George C. Scott in the title role, there
is a scene of a German General being briefed about Patton (in German,
with subtitles). When describing General Patton's height, the briefer
states in German:

"uber ein achtzig" (over 180cm)

but the subtitles say:

"Over 6 feet"

Nice to have a complete translation for us American audiences :-).
