DoD Scholarships/Fellowships for Graduate Studies in Environmental
Restoration at The Ohio State University

The Department of Defense (DoD) has awarded funding to The Ohio State
University for several Scholarships/Fellowships in Environmental Restoration
at both M.S. and Ph.D. levels. The Scholarships/Fellowships program will be
available through the Environmental Science Program. Scholarship/Fellowship
recipients will develop skill in soil and water remediation with emphasis in
hydrogeology, environmental engineering, geochemistry, environmental
chemistry or environmental microbiology. Students will work with faculty in
various disciplines such as Agricultural Engineering, Atmospheric Science,
Chemical Engineering,Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Geological Sciences,
Microbiology, Natural Resources, Nuclear Engineering, Pharmacology, and
Toxicology.

Scholarships/Fellowships recipients must be US citizens or permanent
residents and must agree to serve as a full-time civilian employee of the
DoD in an environmental position for a period of time following graduation.
Preference will be given to existing or former DoD employees or its
contractors/subcontractors who have been engaged in defense-related
activities or, individuals who are or have been members of the Armed Force.

The program will begin in April 1, 1996 with an application deadline of
