Interesting choice of words, "pre-missionary"! The anthropological
literature seems to suggest that the missionaries, if anything, pushed the
"sharing pleasure" process out of the picture. Writers such as Berndt have
frequently commented on the fact that indigenous groups saw the
"missionary position" as problematic primarily because it reduced female
pleasure!
