Sri Krsna describes as knowledge. Once one is humble, prideless,
nonviolent, tolerant, and straightforward, then he is ready
to take advantage of the really powerful step:

ACARYOPASANAM

This is approaching the acarya, the spiritual master, and
worshiping him, by following his instructions.

Done carefully and properly, this saves a lot of time and
frustration.
