I'm doing a project right now on stories about Franz Boas (1858-1942), the
Columbia University anthropologist. I am extremely interested to find
out about if/how anthropologists relate stories about Boas to their
students.

If you were/are an anthropology student and have heard any
stories about Boas, I would appreciate it if you sent me a description of
that story, the anthropologist who told you the story (if you can remember),
the circumstances (i.e. in class, out of class, at a bar?), and at what point
in your training this occurred (undergrad, grad school, etc.)? The
description could be as long (or short) as you'd like. All contributors'
names will be kept completely confidential.

Thank you in advance for your help with my project. Please send all replies
on e-mail to jfewkes@mail.sas.upenn.edu.
