Another North American animal which I think is considered to be recently
domesticated is the alligator. In South America, try the giant capabara
(Venezuela) and the guinea pig (Peru).

Other recent domestications in Africa are the oryx, the impala, and the
grasscutter or cane rat.

Worldwide, several species of deer have been domesticated, including the fallow
deer. Also, many animals have been domesticated for the pet industry, including
budgerigars.
