Anthony,

Stones do exhibit certain acoustical signatures. The projects are underway
to see if the indigenous peoples could have built their buildings in such a
way as to direct these sounds for dramatic effect.

I have been in some sites which have not been reconstructed or consolidated
that contained what one could call mini amphitheaters. They were
definitely not court yards. Such an arrangement indicates some knowledge
of acoustics.
