That's fine Yuri, as Jeffrey has pointed out I have *never* claimed to be an
expert in ethnobotany. But if you want to get into a personal discussion
about our relative expertise in matters archaeological, feel free to bring it
on.

I am not however, objecting to some of the claims based on my personal
knowledge, rather I have relied on research by other individuals who are
botanists for my information. And as we've seen there is some debate among
botanists about the arrival of the sweet potato in Polynesia. I don't claim
that people have proved that it wasn't by human agency only that people have
not been able to prove that it *was*. That's why your appeal to authority
(Rensch) was unpersuasive.
