ANNOUNCEMENT: Ethnographic Field School in Trinidad

The University of South Florida Dept. of Anthropology and Overseas Study
Program present USF in Trinidad 1995 Ethnographic Field School in the
Caribbean, June 5 - July 13, 1995.

Earn six hours of USF credit in a program which gives students an
opportunity to learn ethnography, and get to know the many races and
cultures of Trinidad. This unique program offers students an exciting
study abroad experience including:

-Round trip group airfare from Miami-Trinidad-Miami

-Lodging (both guest house and family home stay)

-Meals during 3 weeks of family stay (breakfast and dinner daily)

-On-site leadership of program director, Dr. Christine Ho, a native of

-USF courses, 3 semester credits each:
ANT 4340 or ANT 7760 Cultures of the Caribbean
ANT 4495 or ANT 7933 Methods in Cultural Research
(Either undergraduate or graduate credit is available)

-Weekend field trips and other planned activities organized by program

-Instruction by USF and University of the West Indies faculty

-Opportunities for interaction with the Trinidadian people

PROGRAM COST: $2300 per person. double occupancy, based on mimum group
size of 10 people. Included in the cost are 6 USF undergradeuate credit
hours (FL resident tuition).

One of the following additional costs may be applicable to you:

Graduate student: add $311.52 to the tuition costs.
Non-Florida resident, undergraduate: add $980.46 to tuition.
non-Florida resident, graduate: add $1829.64 to tuition.

PAYMENT SCHEDULE: A $300 deposit ($100 non-refundable) willb e due by
March 1. Final balance due no later than April 5, 1995.

MEDICAL INSURANCE: Florida law requires that students demonstrate
adequate medical insurance for illness and accidental injury abroad.
Students are responsible for ensuring that they are covered by medical
insurance which is valid outside the U.S.

PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITIES: All students must arrange a telephone or
personal interview with Dr. Christine Ho,the program director.
