Could you offer an example of a professional in this conference who has
shown themself to be a "horrid person"?

You might have a hard time, as there have been mighty few pros around
here at all. Perhaps you're not really seeing "professionals in this
field" here, but instead are reacting to the ranting of other people
drawn to the field.
