First, I'm not saying that the US is great, and I don't really want to make any
value judgement (although I admit that I implied one). It may all turn out
terrible. In either case, it's something that has never happened on such a scale
before.

I also think that it's unfair to judge a culture solely by it's worst aspects.
(Actually, I think Bruce Willis is a pretty good actor sometimes, but I see your
point about the theaterettes and so on.) You can choose to watch Die Hard II, or
you can choose to watch Schindler's List.
