You're right James, I did not read all of your post, largely because it is
too long.
There is no 'Holy Grail' of why humans evolved. Hominid evolution was a
complicated process largely (judging by the fossil record) consisting of
punctuated equilibrium leading to speciation. It was a complicated process
in which no one factor was the determining reason for hominid evolution.
More likely, several, mutually reinforcing, factors were involved.
I will talk more on this subject if anyone is interested, or has specific
questions.
