Actually, the external ears of both chimps and humans are extremely
variable in size. It is possible to find chimps with external ears
smaller than virtually any human you've ever seen, and it's possible to
find humans with ears larger than any chimp's.

The external auditory meatus is much smaller in chimps than in humans.
