Here's my question on the hair thing. It seems to be a *given* that the
body is built to produce too much energy - so that without the cooling
help from hair we (and the other animals on the savannah) would overheat.
But this seems like a pretty inefficient use of metabolism. What's the
survival feature behind a metabolism that is so high you have to grow hair
to cool it down?
