Absolutely. And it is probable that it did. The question that must be
asked about A. afarensis is, is there anything about it's skeletal anatomy
that indicates a PREDOMINANTLY wading ecology?
Horses wade, camels wade. Wolves wade.
Keeping an open mind in science is crucial. But having enough evidence to
believe something with a substantial amount of confidence takes a lot more
than just an open mind.
