The Radical Archaeology Theory Seminar is a small, informal, but lively
conference which stresses the ability of archaeology to challenge
existing, received and constructed assumptions about the past and the
present. Our program this year features papers on topics ranging from
archaeology in Tierra del Fuego, through women€s quilting, to African and
Native American archaeology. In addition, R.A.T.S. is pleased to announce
that Dr. Elizabeth Brumfiel of the Center for Behavioral Studies, UC
Berkeley will be our plenary speaker.

The organizers of the conference extent a warm invitation to all
archaeologists, historians, and others interested in history, theory, and
material culture to attend and participate in this years meeting.
