I recently read a paper that attributed the appearence of adapids and
omomyids at the beginning of the Eocene to the "docking" of India on Asia
at about that time. Since India split from Madagascar in the late
Cretaceous, that would help explain the similarities between the lemurs
and the adapids. If the Anthropoidea also hitched a ride on that bus, we
might find Paleocene strata in that area very interesting.
