Re: Aberrant Anthropology

Generally, anthropology is, except in a strictly political sense,
a pretty conservative discipline. So much so that I would say that
_anything_ not published in a recognized anthropological journal,
or published by a serious academic press, and purports to be
"anthropological", is suspect. The only popular works that might be
acceptable are those published by major museums, which usually are
extremely orthodox; almost to a fault. Key words to avoid in
popular literature: "Race", "Mayan", "Ape", "Neanderthal",
and, especially, "IQ". The nonsense published about these topics
is simply staggering.
