If the assignment to A.africanus is right and the age of 3.5 myrs is accurate
this is very interesting, for it extends the timerange of A.africanus 0.5 myrs
futher back in time, right in the middle of that of A.afarensis.
Does this make A.afarensis less likely to be ancestral to A.africanus?
Can A.africanus be considered a sisterspecies of A.afarensis on the basis of
this material?
