Sam Beck doesn't get my point in recommending Brackette William's
"The impact of the precepts of nationalism on the concept of
culture: Making grashoppers of naked apes."

Sam, my friend, my point is to recommend an article that I think
worth reading by an author for whom I have the greatest respect.

If you notice that the authors she quotes include Julian Benda,
who was writing between two world wars that were motivated by
ethnic hubris, and Joseph Stalin, who had his own peculiar ways
of dealing with ethnic issues, and feel, perhaps, threatened by
these references, please do tell us why?
