Read up on Michael Agar. He's done a lot of work on drug culture in America looking at rehab
centers, out-patient clinics/needle-exchange programs. I've only read his "Professional Stranger"
which also gives a good overview of some anthropological techniques. Very readable.

Hi everyone!
I am just beginning my senior research project and I was hoping some of
you might help me with some ideas. I want to do an anthropological study
of a drug culture on a college campus. I already know where I want to do
the study, but I do not have any clue as to how to begin. Does anyone
know any good studies about drug culture oncollege campuses or any other
setting? I do have the idea of framing my thesis around the idea that
the drug culture is a sub-culture. Any ideas or criticisms of that
idea? If you know any good studies that I should read or have any ideas
about this topic, or even if you feel that we could make this a
open discussion, I would be more than thrilled. Thanks to you all.
