This isn't specifically Anthropology, however our faculty comes
from disciplines across the spectum from Computer Science
through Sociology. Applications from anthropologists with
requisite experience - particularly those with ethnographic film
experience - would be welcome.

Faculty Production Position

DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATION
UNIV OF CALIF, SAN DIEGO

University of California, San Diego, Department of Communication
is seeking to fill a tenure track position (subject to funding) at
the assistant professor level in the area of the practice and theory
of production. Emphasis on video production is preferred, but we
will also consider candidates with significant experience in film,
television, photography, theatre, music, multimedia, or any
combination of these.

In addition to demonstrable production and teaching skills, candidates
must have a research record in a communication-related area. We
are especially interested in candidates who study television.
Because the selected person must be able to supervise doctoral
dissertations, a Ph.D. is preferred. Candidates without Ph.D. will
be considered if they can demonstrate a strong teaching, production,
and research record.

Search closes on January 1, 1995, but we will consider applications

Salaries are in strict accordance with established University of
California pay scales.
